How to Request a Police Welfare Check?
To request a police safe and well check for somebody, you simply call 999 if you believe the situation to be an emergency, or 101 in any other instance. You will then provide the relevant details and the local police force will be instructed to proceed with a welfare check.
Unfortunately, due to low levels of funding and a lack of available police officers in many areas of the country, there is no guarantee as to when somebody will actually carry out the check and in some instances there may be a wait of many hours.
It goes without saying that this is not ideal, and if you are concerned about someone’s wellbeing then we understand that urgency is required. At My Own Cop we treat every Safe and Well Check as a priority, aiming for a response time of under 20 minutes.
Our Security Officers have the necessary training to deal with any situation, whether that involves a potential threat of violence, medical emergency or anything else.
If you have a family member, friend or neighbour that requires Safe and Well Checks on a regular basis and you have experienced unsatisfactory responses from your local police force in the past, My Own Cop is here to help you take control of the situation.
